Tomislav Levak

MA in Culture Studies

Born on May 31, 1975, in Osijek. He earned a dual master’s degree in 2014 at the Department of Cultural Studies, Josip Juraj Strossmayer University in Osijek, in two fields of study – Media Culture and Cultural Management. During his undergraduate studies, he was recognized as the best student in his cohort, and during his graduate studies, he received the Rector’s Award for outstanding achievement with a perfect GPA of 5.0. From November 1996 to March 2015, he worked as a successful journalist for several national and regional print media outlets – first for Slobodna Dalmacija, then Jutarnji list, followed by Slavonski dom, and finally Glas Slavonije. He also has practical experience in television, radio, and online journalism.

His areas of scientific interest include new media, communication studies, media literacy, media and public relations, disinformation and fake news, public speaking, and management in culture, media, and creative industries. He has participated in over twenty national and international scientific and professional conferences and gatherings and has published about fifteen scientific papers. In addition to Croatian, he speaks, reads, and writes English and German.
