“Creating a better online world isn’t the responsibility of just a few; it’s a goal we all need to support and actively contribute to,” say our influencers Ana Radišić, Slađana Ostić, Domagoj Jakopović Ribafish, and Miro Čabraja, united in their mission for responsible online conduct, They are the latest participants in the School of Responsible Influencing, an initiative by the Safer Internet Centre and A1 Croatia, with a goal of creating a safer and more positive online environment.

Based on the idea that every individual can and should contribute to creating a positive and encouraging online environment, the School of Responsible Influencing welcomed its first participants in November last year, and to date, as many as 35 influencers and content creators have successfully earned certification. Demonstrating that every season, even one typically associated with relaxation, is an excellent opportunity for personal growth—especially when it has far-reaching and positive effects—our renowned influencers proved this summer by deciding to step back into the classroom.

Ana Radišić, host, editor, podcaster, and influencer, decided to enroll and get certified for one simple reason: “The internet is a vast space full of diverse information that we must not accept without verification. Together, we need to create a safe online world where we can find inspiration and ensure a better tomorrow for future generations.” Domagoj Jakopović Ribafish, a columnist, journalist, gastronomy blogger, and geography teacher, agrees with her and further emphasizes the importance of preventing cyberbullying. “As people who have significant influence in the online world and are followed by both young and old, we must understand our responsibility. That’s why we need continuous education to know how to react in certain situations and be better online.”

Two more influencers will also join them in returning to the online classroom. “Each of us must act responsibly in the online world, and influencers play a significant role given the number of people who follow them. Learning how to react and act in specific situations was my main goal for joining the School of Responsible Influencing”, emphasizes Slađana Ostić, an influencer better known by the name slakipalaki.

“I’m glad to have the opportunity to go back to school with an amazing group, especially for such a socially responsible project aimed at making the internet a safer and better place. All of us who create content daily and have influence bear responsibility for our online behavior. I’m excited that, after receiving proper education, I’ll be able to contribute to creating a safer and more positive online environment,” said actor and influencer Miro Čabraja, emphasizing that we all bear responsibility and must work together to build a better online world.

This highlights the themes covered in the School of Responsible Influencing, through online lectures and workshops, which raise participants’ awareness about the importance of responsible online behavior. The program stresses the necessity of recognizing and reporting inappropriate content online, the proper methods of reporting, and the creation of positive online content that fosters beneficial influence.
To create a better online presence, we must embrace diversity, listen to each other, promote respect and empathy, and share positive, inspiring messages. Aware of this responsibility, Ana, Slaki, Riba, and Miro have joined a community committed to being agents of change and practicing responsible influencing.
