Professor Gordana Buljan Flander

Professor Gordana Buljan Flander, PhD, is a clinical psychologist, integrative psychotherapist for children, adolescents, and adults, and a permanent court expert on abused and traumatized children. Throughout her rich career, she has been dedicated to protecting children, their mental health, and their rights. As a child psychologist at the Children’s Hospital in Zagreb, she often worked with abused and neglected children who lacked necessary adult protection. In the early 1990s, she was among the first in Croatia to recognize this issue, dedicating her career to these children.

She is the founder of the Brave Phone helpline and the Zagreb Child and Youth Protection Center. She received a Lifetime Achievement Award in Child Rights Protection in 2018 and the State Science Award in 2019.
